At Dwellings, we're lucky when we get to add an exclamation point to an Architect's vision,
and greatly appreciate the reciprocal input we receive on some of our far-fetched, but (usually) figure-outable ideas.
When a project we're working on requires the services of an Architect, we'll make referrals to those who we believe would complement the proposed scope, style, and timeline of the project. Once an Architect is on board, we forward all of the ideas we've gathered for review and feasibility studies, modifications when necessary, engineering, and construction drawings. We believe that this collaboration works best when our respective roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, so for every project we determine together up front how to best serve our mutual clients.
Some Architects include every detail in their plans, and others provide just enough information to get plans approved for permits. Architects who refer their clients to us trust us to maintain the integrity of their design as we fine-tune the details of the plans they created by making selections of fixtures and finishes. When we're invited to collaborate early in the design direction process, our ideas can contribute to an in depth functionality of a space, where furniture layouts, window treatments, and specialty features are considered in detail.
Whether creative minds think alike or differently, ideas generated in collaboration are almost always better than those generated alone. Together we develop layouts that are not only realistic and thoughtfully crafted, but that will result in meaningful spaces that appeal to the more refined senses of our clients.
Few designers specialize exclusively in designing for construction. The Architects we work with appreciate our in depth knowledge of the fundamentals of great architecture. They're also confident that the ideas we share back and forth will incorporate more technical construction principles which often leads to an even more detailed and refined finished project.
Architects who refer clients to us know our value goes far beyond knowing what will look good. They trust us to provide input on the design and finish and fixture selections that is based on many years of experience, an extensive network of resources, our in-depth technical expertise, and often 'out-of-the-box' creative strategies.
